Function of a clothing system
A microclimate develops between clothing and the skin which, through temperature, air humidity and contact with the skin, influences the duration of physical well-being.
In 2004, the leading Swiss Institute for Clothing Physiology began basic research and studies on the topic of functional clothing.
The Federal Materials Testing and Research Laboratory (EMPA) in St. Gallen carried out basic research and studies on the physiology of clothing. Specialist literature is not very representative on the subject, since until now scientific clothing concepts had not yet been developed. This successful development has a name: SWEATMANAGEMENT
Recognized Swiss laboratories carry out periodic quality checks to ensure that the specifications of the individual textile layers are met and that the function of this clothing system is guaranteed.
SWEATMANAGEMENT is being introduced in the Swiss Army:
For the first time, a scientifically based system was developed and, based on positive experiences, SWEATMANAGEMENT was introduced in the Swiss Army
- Since 2007 for instructors and soldiers on continuous duty,
- Since 2008 for recruit schools
- Since 2009 for the rest of the troops
- The Swiss Olympic team also wore this clothing at the 2006 Winter Olympic Games in Turin

After studies, developments, laboratory tests and trials in the Swiss Army, the clothing concept of the future, SWEAT MANAGEMENT, was born.
SWEAT MANAGEMENT
A clothing concept for all temperatures and weather conditions throughout the year. With the 4 defined layers, maximum comfort is guaranteed. Different polyester fibers are used, which meet the required cooling in the active phase, but also a quick re-drying time in the rest phase.
